2019 Crooked Letter Kayak Challenge
Weigh-In at The Blind Tiger Biloxi
April 27th, 2019 from 2-3pm

Heaviest four (4) fish stringer including any combination Mississippi legal Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, or White Trout. Competitors can only weigh in one (1) slot Redfish (18"-27") per stringer with any combination of any other species.
Payout for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Stringers
Single Fish Division - There will be payout for the heaviest Speckled Trout, Redfish, Flounder, and White Trout weighed in.
Women's Division - Prizes will be awarded to the woman with the heaviest stringer weighed in.
FREE Youth Division - There will be a free youth division for anglers age thirteen (13) and younger. Prizes will be awarded to the youth weighing in the heaviest stringer. All youth anglers shall be communicated to the Tournament Director prior to the conclusion of the Captain's Meeting.
Note: Contestants will only be allowed to win one category except in the case of the Women's Division. For this tournament, "slot Redfish" is defined as a Redfish between 18" and 27" long.
Weigh in will be located The Blind Tiger in Biloxi, MS starting at 2 pm on April 27th, 2019. All contestants must be in line to weigh their catch by 3 pm, sharp. No anglers will be permitted to weigh their catch after 3 pm.
There will be a non-mandatory Captain's Meeting at The Blind Tiger in Biloxi at 6:30 pm on April 26th, 2019 to discuss rules and regulations, answer any questions anglers may have about the tournament, and distribute captain's bags. Individuals who cannot be present at the Captain's Meeting must be registered and paid via the online registration tool or must have arranged to pay registration and sign the tournament waiver with the Tournament Director prior to conclusion of the Captain's Meeting.
Legal Boundaries - All contestants must launch and fish in publicly accessible Mississippi state waters. Lines in the water April 27th at 5 am.
Paddle/Pedal Craft Only
Contestants may only fish from human powered craft such as kayaks, canoes, pirogues, paddle boards, or tandem kayaks. The use of motors, sails, gas engines, and "mother ships" is prohibited. Anglers with disabilities may be allowed to use an electric trolling motor provided the Tournament Director is notified prior to the conclusion of the Captain's Meeting April 26th.

The entry fee is $47.00 for the public and $42.00 for paid members of the South Mississippi Kayak Fishing Club (SMKFC). Individuals may become members of SMKFC through the members link above. Registration must be paid online or at the Captain's Meeting. Registration is non-refundable and competitors must be paid members of SMKFC prior to registering for the Crooked Letter Kayak Challenge. No exceptions.
Captain's bags will be provided while supplies last and distributed to contestants who register the earliest.
Online registration is available through the link below. Contestants need to fill out the online form and submit their registration fee via PayPal. There will be an additional processing fee of $1.71 for Non-Member registrations and $1.56 for paid member registration to cover PayPal's fees. Note that any contestants registering online under the age of 18 will be required to provide Parent/Guardian signature any time prior to the conclusion of the Captain's Meeting. Online Registration closes April 24th, 2019 at 5 pm. Only registration at the Captain's Meeting will be allowed after 5 pm on April 24th.
Tournament payout will be based on the number of registered participants at 5:00 pm CST Wednesday April 24th, 2019. At that time, online registration will be closed and prize structure announced via the club's Facebook page.
NEW FOR 2019: Registration will include a meal provided by The Blind Tiger in Biloxi for each participant at weigh-in for those who register before 5:00 pm CST on April 21st, 2019. Meals for registered anglers are not guaranteed after April 21st, 2019. Registration fees collected after April 21st will not be adjusted.
